FUORISALONE 2023: TANGIBLE & INTANGIBLE

The One Works installation at the large INTERNI event-exhibition, Design Re-Evolution, at the University of Milan.


From April 17th to 26th at the University of Milan, we will be at the forefront of the important INTERNI “Design Re-Evolution” exhibition-event with the installation “Tangible & Intangible”, designed by One Works Managing Partner and architect Leonardo Cavalli and developed in collaboration with Mapei.

With its two totems, the installation represents cultural dualism, revealing the reciprocal complementarity, but also the extreme opposition, between the tangible and intangible.

Material and immaterial sit side by side in the same space: on one hand that which it is possible to experience with all the senses, and on the other that which cannot be touched physically but can nevertheless be perceived in a space that offers emotions.

The tangible is presented by a composition with layers of various construction materials, which we are not used to seeing, being hidden from human eyes when an architectural work is complete: mortars, sealers, plaster and other Mapei materials are layered over various essential construction elements such as metal profiles, wood and glass coated with our products.

The intangible, on the other hand, is represented by a totem formed with a slender metal profile that creates a visually empty parallelepiped that comes alive by bringing the visitor into the immaterial world of virtual experience. A game using artificial intelligence immerses visitors in what may be the architecture and cities of tomorrow.
